Kannur

Kannur, India has a number of tourist attractions including beaches, hills, temples and other monuments.Kannur (old name Cannanore) is a seaside city on the northern side of Kerala State in India.Cradled in the lap of nature, right in the middle of God's own country, Kannur is a place that you will find sprinkled with beauty. Payyambalam beach is a beautiful spot located in the district of Kannur. It is one among the five beaches that is collectively known as Kannur beach. Long stretch of sandy walkways and recreational facilities of this beach make is a favourite hang out. Close to the beach is the light house, and the children’s' park. Visitors can enjoy a good swim or surf in these tranquil waters. The beach is well maintained and looks picturesque on cool sunsets.


Calicut

The name 'Kozhikode' translates to fortified palace (koyil means palace and kudu means fortified) and today it is considered a veritable bastion of Kerala's ancient trade relations, culture and cuisine. The reference is said to have come from the fort built by the former rulers of the place, the legendary Zamorins of Calicut. Today its terrain of coastal belts, laterite midlands and rocky highlands is considered a wonderful vantage point to observe and understand the past and future of God's Own Country.Kozhikode was put on the world map by the Arabian, Chinese and African traders who came to this port town, with the historic Spice Route being established here. Kozhikode beach, situated about one km away from the city of Kozhikode is an excellent beach for sunset watching. An ideal picnic spot for families, the beach would entertain children who love to play in the surf. The Lions Park and Marine Water Aquarium attached are the added attraction at Kozhikode beach.

Thiruvananthapuram
